Performs risk appraisal for new business (NB) and amendments within the set turnaround time and in accordance with underwriting guidelinesevaluates and recommends approval/disapproval of life insurance applications including riders, reinstatements, top-ups and policy amendments within underwriting authority in accordance with the established underwriting standards and guidelinesPerforms regular tele-underwriting to distributors or customers to secure information and other requirements to come out with underwriting decision / recommendation and drive conversion rate, reduction of pending casesReport any noted possible fraud or red flag in new business documents (application, signature, misdeclaration, etc.) to Legal and ComplianceGenerates monthly reports and any other ad hoc reports as required by the line managerPerforms administrative and coordination tasks for medical providers to support efficient and effective delivery of servicesQualificationGraduate of any 4-year course preferably medical related coursesMinimum 2 – 5 years of experience in life insurance underwriting (non-med, medical)Passed at least 1 LOMA exam (Fundamentals and Operations of Life Insurance CompaniesGood oral and written communication skillsProficient in MS Office applicationsAbility to work well with people at all levels in the organizationCustomer orientedKeen attention to detailDecision making and Good judgmentAnalytical skills
