Job Description Summary

Produces content for products in various media types for a wide range of uses. Responsible for content of a product line and/or process. Plans, writes, designs and reviews relevant content for products. May act as a mentor and provide training for others.

Sources content materials, including maintaining an efficient network of internal and external sources and contacts upon which to draw for content, topics, contributions and clarifications.Analyzes information from multiple resources to write/edit/assemble/ update/ troubleshoots and delivers content with guidance and direction consistent with all company editorial standards.Gathers and translates data into comprehensible text for internal and external customers.Designs, develops, and provides high quality reference materials for the company’s products and resources using interactive content and new technologies.May retrieve, interpret and provide critical analysis of subject matter material (relevant to products) to identify interesting topics and key authors for further commissioning of content to be published in company products.May use writing and production skills and experience to write, edit or assemble product content based on various source materials.Researches, tracks, summarizes, or reviews content.May prepare dates for various existing publications that are consistent with company and industry standards.

Technical

May identify articles and current developments related to products.Provides timely, accurate and topical information updates for assigned product(s) if applicable.Performs writing, editing, analyzing, and validation of data.Uses taxonomy application guidelines to apply tags and classify web content and documents.Assists in resolution of routine problems.May work with internal and external stakeholders to become acquainted with the product, troubleshoot problems and highlight improvement opportunities.May produce best-in-industry, easy-to-use customer product documentation, user reference materials or newsletters in various media for content and technology products.May create product documentation and works with stakeholders to integrate it into the product.

Quality

May conduct regular quality reviews and edits, as required to ensure proper formatting, functionality of links, continued relevancy of content and implements all styles changes and technological developments which impact writing.Provides testing and other support for various media as needed ensuring the technical accuracy, readability, and usability of content.May require maintaining content expertise by keeping abreast of current events/best practices, attending conferences/industry seminars in relevant field to identify trends, significant changes, developments in research and impact to products.

Customer Requirements

Coordinates with internal stakeholders to ensure customers’ needs are properly identified and supported.Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) or others to obtain the content knowledge needed to develop product and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.

Workflow

Manages the workload to meet all deadlines, and proactively reports status and revisits plans.

Product/Process Improvement

Responsible for one or more product lines, processes, or projects.Proactive in the implementation, application and continuous improvement of processes, practices and procedures as it relates supported content.May be involved in new systems and/or product/project development.
