Purpose of the positionThe primary role of the Highway Engineer is to support the roads and highway engineering services for the SMEC Philippines Office under the direction of the Deputy Transport Manager/Project Manager.Key Responsibilities:Assist the Senior Highway Engineer in the roads and highway design activities for the project, including all quality control and checking of designs.Provide professional and competent engineering design for roads and highway. The services would include field work (limited), analysis, design and reporting.Analysis and design of all roads and highway projects.Ensure all designs are prepared in accordance with the Design Process Plan and standards as issued by SMEC.Be able to liaise with Client and other stakeholders independently during the design process and ensure client requirements are clearly identified and addressed.Liaise with other disciplines involved in the Project such as the architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil and rail teams to ensure all structures are fit for purpose, code compliant and meet the Client’s requirements.Provide clear and concise reports related to the design, and in accordance with the Client requirements.Review and check CADD and drafting outputs in relation to roads and highway design.Assist in the preparation of Specifications and Bills of Quantities as required.Sign and seal of roads and highway engineering designs and drawings.Key Qualifications:Licensed Civil Engineer.At least 3-5 years’ experience in Roads, Highway and Expressway engineering designs.With background in transportation and traffic engineering designs (geometric, pavement design and traffic planning).Demonstrated design experience on major infrastructure projects.Detailed knowledge on Roads, Highway and Expressway engineering designs, planning and construction phases.Demonstrated technical ability.Proven ability to work independently and prioritise own work load to meet deadlines.Excellent communication skills.Willing to accept Project-based status.Willing to be assigned in Ortigas, Pasig City.Be part of something GREAT.
