Research Associate

Role Summary
The Research Associate searches for, collects, validates and processes financial information and news articles in English on global portfolio of companies and corporates using multiple methods, techniques and public information sources. The Research Associate also writes commentaries and derives analysis on the gathered data. The Research Associate is cross-trained on multiple areas of the account supporting his/her growth and learning development. Those are summarized in the non-exhaustive production section below. The Research Associate may be asked to participate in ad-hoc projects and time and motion studies to support the client’s requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Production (90%)
Gathers financial data points using a wide variety of public information sources (such as companies’ annual reports, website, news sites, web crawlers etc.)Validate pricing data points from other vendors and escalates discrepancies with said vendorsRead and classifies news articles on companies and corporatesCollects data points on real estate assets, including but not limited to building carbon emission, m2 building footprint etc.Collect data points on carbon and CSRCollect data points on segment data for a global portfolio of companiesCollect data points on number of shares and dividends for public companiesFloats reviewCo
nducts analysis of research data through written commentaries and uses client’s pre-defined methodologies to derive ESG ratingUses learnings from regular research findings within a screening category to develop new ratings guidance and enhance the current research methodologyUploads finding into “Capture” or “UI” the client proprietary toolsUtilizes o
nline translator tools to assist with the processing of foreign languages research materialsAdheres to client’s quality standards as defined in the current SLAs/KPIsCo

Required Skills/Abilities:
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishMust have advanced proficiency in MS Excel and is able to learn new applications with easeStrong analytical ability and able to apply logic to solve problemsStrong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasksMust be amenable to work on-site
Education and Experience:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in any field, preferably Financial Management, Economics, Business or Commerce
