Job Summary:
Assists in providing an efficient and effective service to Firm Partners and offices in opening new and existing client registrations and matters; provide guidance to Partners to ensure compliance with ethical and legal duties to avoid conflicts of interest and in meeting professional responsibility obligations.
Provides all aspects of support to the Firm, its Partners and offices with regard to the New Business Intake (NBI) processes i.e. client due diligence (KYC), AML checking, co
nflicts checking, regulatory and Firm risk co
ntrol compliance- serves as the “gate-keeper”, ensuring that the Firm is not engaged with undesirable clients and matters.Diligently reviews potential new clients and new matter information submitted via the Firm’s intake system; assists with identification of possible co
nflicts of interest; verifies that the Firm’s Standard Terms of Engagement are in place with the client; ensures compliance with Firm policies and procedures; and co
nfirm that all client/matter information in the Firm’s central records is accurate.Co
nducts client due diligence (KYC) investigation of prospective clients using o
nline databa
ses (such as Pacer, Lexis Nexis, etc.), business intelligence databa
ses (D&B, Hoovers), Government Watch Lists (World-Check) and the public domain searches to facilitate the identification of high risk and negative findings, which must be communicated to NBI Management and the Risk and Compliance team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (law related degree) with some previous experience in a client o
nboarding role1-3 years of relevant experienceExcellent interperso
nal skills with a positive customer-service-oriented attitudeAbility to engage and collaborate with team members locally and across other Centers
