Main Function: To direct and manage all activities related to drivers and trucks, and efficient delivery of petroleum products to customers
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manages delivery plan utilizing manpower, and other resources to ensure effective and efficient operations and that work assignments are completed properly.
· Manage transport optimization opportunities, maximizing flexibility at the most cost-effective service.
· Go thru checklist of the trucks’ and drivers’ requirements before sending for dispatch
· Managing Daily budget for Driver’s Diesel Consumption allowance and other miscellaneous allowance.
· Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and fuel efficiency to keep costs down and maximize profit
· Continually handles Training for drivers on basic operations procedure and safety regulations in handling delivery.
· Resolve Dispatching and Delivery issues such as truck breakdown, traffic crashes, failed inspections, off-specs products, water contamination and other incidents that may occur during operations.
· Monitoring driver behavior and ensuring a high level of customer service.
· Handles driver issues such as misdemeanor and provide necessary sanctions if needed.
· Manages trucks’ inventories, utilization efficiency and, repairs and maintenance scheduling and costs.
· Review drivers’ trip summary prior to submission for payroll computation.
· Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection and schedule regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency
· Manages budget for truck repairs and parts replacements.
· Communicates company safety program, trains, and enforces safety rules and compliance with all government regulations.
· Responsible for monitoring and updating registration and licensing of all trucks with the different government agencies
· Administer safety programs which encourage a safe work environment and focus on prevention of accidents and injuries.
· Ensure compliance with government, company, and local labor regulations, policies, and procedures.
· Assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet.
· Handles truck modification and repair in case of additional trucks coming in.
· Other duties that may be assigned from time to time pertaining to Logistics and Fleet Operations.
Requirements:
· Graduate of any Bachelor’s degree
· 2-5 years leadership experience within the oil and gas, transportation or logistics industry.
· At least 6 years in the hauling industry
· Solid computer skills utilizing MS Office including other applications.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with Business Development, and other vendors.
· Must be detailed oriented and possess exceptional leadership skills, a strong customer focus, and team-oriented.
· Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to changes resulting from a changing logistics environment.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and safety training skills.
· Must be able to work extended hours, nights and weekends.
· Understands planning, shipping, and inventory systems
· Manages daily routes/schedules of the deliveries
· Knowledge of emergency response protocols.
