Primarily responsible for keeping the Motor loss ratio being handled in check through prudent selection, evaluation and close monitoring of the risks being accepted by the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

valuates risks and establishes the amount, rates, terms and co
nditions of coverage for insurance and reinsurance applications to ensure that acceptable risks are being written.Determines retention limits, treaty and facultative cessions policies for acceptance, renewal and/or endorsement to ensure that risks are kept to a defined level so that it may not adversely affect excess of loss covers, treaties and other reinsurance facilities.Prepare formal quotation for each approved risk to give client an idea of the rates, terms and co
nditions of his policy.Process Internal Loss Advice (ILA) Form from the Claims Department for total loss and carnap units for submission to PIRA to ensure that the company does not pay any fraudulent claims.Attends to inquiries through telephone, email, fax or perso
nal visit by Sales Assistants, District Offices, Reinsurers, Agents & Brokers and Clients.Maintain and periodically update Underwriting tables, whether in the system or on file, such as Fair Market Value (FMV) table, Underwriting Acceptance Number Log, etc. to be able to provide the information to co
ncerned persons.Review of mo
nthly expiring policies checking the claims, conditions, and rates to ensure that they are in adherence to the Underwriting guidelines.Co
nducts trainings and seminars to agents and other employees to be able to teach them the policies and co
nditions of motor insurance and guide them properly in handling their business.Prepares statistical data (profit and loss statistics) and reports, analyzes and recommends/suggests courses of action as necessary to make sound decisions.Attends various meetings with other units to discuss/plan the actions/initiatives to meet the targets.
QUALIFICATIONS
College Graduate (BS Mathematics or equivalent course)Knowledge/application of the product lines and the Non-life business/processes.Knowledge/application of basic computer application systems.With supervisory & training skills.Attended Basic Non-Life Seminar and/or at least one of the following seminars: Motor, Accident & Health, Reinsurance is a plus.
