The Junior Corporate Lawyer will directly report to and assist the Corporate Lawyer with all legal and compliance-related matters. The Junior Lawyer will also be directly reporting together with the Corporate Lawyer to the President
Success in this role will require you to fulfill the following responsibilities:
1. Contracts Management
a. Provides analyses and counsel on legal, policy, and/or corporate issues related to agreements/contracts entered into by the Company and its affiliates with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other business partners.
b. Composes and/or reviews agreement/contract templates, as necessary.
2. Compliance and Permits Acquisition. Monitors and ensures ethical compliance of the Company and its affiliates to government and statutory obligations.
3. Legal Risk Management
a. Provides legal counsel on legal risks related to the implementation of projects by the Company and its affiliates.
b. Provides legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits against the Company and its affiliates.
c. Prepares and/or reviews legal opinions, pleadings, motions, discoveries, stipulations, and other legal documents, as necessary.
4. Litigation and Case Management
a. Oversees collaboration with external lawyers for the management of legal cases and other retained services concerning the Company and its affiliates b. Represents the Company and/or its officials in various legal proceedings, as necessary.
5. Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
Graduate of a four-year course relating to a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor, and from a reputable university.Bar Passer and updated MCLE compliance Junior associate level and must have 2-3 years of legal practice experienceMust have experience in litigation, corporate governance (ex. drafting of minutes of the meeting, drafting of board resolutions, review of GIS, co
ntract review), and dealing with various government agencies (ex. SEC, BIR, LGU, etc).Preferably, but not required, experience in handling data privacy concerns.
