This is a global position, which can be handled from home at 100%. There is a preference for people living in the countries where we have entities (Philippines, Hong Kong, Bulgaria), or regions where we invest (Europe/Australia) but we shall consider qualified applicants from all countries.

We’re looking for a reformed law graduate that has switched his/her career to the investment/venture capital industry.

In this role, you'll get to fill two roles within our group:

Investment associate: Arcanys Ventures (AV) is currently investing in 5 to 10 companies per year. This is a critical area of growth for our business and we can expect a higher number in the coming years. There is a need to:Maintain and develop relationships with seed funds, VC funds, accelerators and other venture organizations, where AV comes as a co-investor.Help with screening and discussions with candidate startups for investmentHelp with due diligencelink portfolio companies with relevant investorsWe estimate the investment associate role should keep you busy 75-80% of the time (30-32 hours/week).Part-time legal counsel: you may not enjoy this part as much (since you’ve switched your career focus), but it is a really important role that we need covered, that only warrants someone’s involvement part-time. In this role, you would:Help review legal contracts related to employees (focus only on templates and not handle the actual preparation of all employment contracts), agreements with consulting clients, investments agreements, convertible notes, etc.Liaise with country specific counselWe estimate this workload at about 8-10 hours/week

What you'll need to suceed:

Major in Law. There is no need for country specific law qualification because we need you to handle matters in all the countries we operate and invest.2-4 years experience in an accelerator, seed fund or venture capital firm, preferably at the seed / Series A stage.Excellent written and spoken English skillsWith good problem solving skills and self-driven (we are a pretty flat company and do not believe in micromanagement).Work experience in multiple countries is an advantage
