We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Markets Operations – Processing and Settlements Fixed Term Officer for 6 months.

ROLE PURPOSE

Performs operations and client servicing support for Markets transactions, ensuring timely and accurate end-to-end processing, settlement and reporting in accordance with applicable regulations and Group policies. Ensures completion of regulatory reporting for the Bank.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Impact on the Business / Function

Supports timely and accurate end-to-end processing and reporting of Markets transactionsProvides operational support for new product, service or process initiatives of Markets, including under BCP scenariosEnsures compliance of our transactions with regulations and completes regulatory reporting requirements including audit and assurance testing Provides effective operations-related challenge, guidance and inputs to the business in jointly pursuing front-to-back productivity, sustainability, scalability and optimal resource usage

Customers / Stakeholders 

Upholds daily compliance with our client service level agreements which may cover trade affirmations//confirm/iations, managing inquiries, securing trade and settlement documentsCarries out client calls and collaboration with Markets and Relationship Managers to support better client coverage and business opportunitiesSupports client communication with respect to HSBC policies and local regulations relevant to the transactionsDrives efficient, innovative, compliant, industry competitive and group-aligned client service standards consistently

Leadership & Teamwork

Assists in ensuring smooth client coverage by coordinating with various units of the bank (WSB, SS, Markets, DBS)Supports various projects and activities being managed by Markets Operations PHParticipates in team training and development and business continuity readiness exercises and improvements

Operational Effectiveness & Control

Embeds optimal usage of resources available for Markets Operations by raising initiatives on improvements in the day-to-day processSafeguards the bank against various franchise risks and apply escalation protocols to mitigate and address open risksApplies the balance of growth with compliance and acts as control owners in every layer of Operations work

QUALIFICATIONS

Commendable knowledge on Markets, its products and flows and role of Operations in this business is an advantage.Reliability in performing high risk functions inherent to Operations – timely and accurate document checking vs rules and policies, pre-empting cut-offs, application of decision making and escalations, communicating well with clients, working with a connected team within and beyond Markets Operations team.Understanding of risks, principles and controls around it and ability to take ownership in the overall risk framework of the bank.Team player, innovative mindset, client-centric, good communicator, efficiency, optimization and conduct and compliance champion.
