Job Description

Overview:

We assist ING’s journey to become a data driven company by enabling the adoption of consistent reference data across our systems. Reference Data is a list of allowed values for other data fields, such as a list of Countries or Industry Types. We achieve this by providing services around the GRDM system, where all ING employees have viewing rights and can connect to other systems via a file-interface or API.

As a Reference Data Analyst you will be offering a service to the Global Party Data Management (GCDM) Tribe under the Chief Data Management Office (CDMO) based in Amsterdam. The GCDM Tribe aims to standardize the Master Party and Reference Data Management across all ING Countries and Domains. Part of that standardization is our ING-developed system named “Global Reference Data Management” or “GRDM” for short. GRDM has 2 teams attached to it:

the Platform team which develops the software and implements technical connections based in Amsterdamthe Operations Chapter which offers services on the data stored within GRDM. You will be a member of the Operations Chapter based in Manila.

If you are:

Very detail oriented when processing data. MS Excel experience is required.Knowledgeable in basic data modelling (desired). You understand concepts like primary and foreign keys for database tables.Familiar with Data Governance (who is allowed to do what, on which data)Comfortable in working in a very international environment. Ready to work with colleagues from the Netherlands and other ING locations remotely.Capable to be a sparring partner for the ING business and data management functions. You are expected to say “no” to requests but effectively explain your reasoning for doing so.Effective in communication skills. Solid English verbal and written communications skills.Familiar with basics of IT Risk e.g., rules around non-personal accounts (optional).Available to work in mid-shift (1 till 10).

If you can:

Process Data Updates, which include:

Identify updates by checking against external (e.g. government websites) or internal sources (e.g. requests from ING data owners)Carefully review and upload (often) bulk updates to supervised tables.Communicate updates to stakeholders, especially to systems consuming our data

Monitor Incidents and Queries via our shared Mailbox and Ticketing System, which includes:

Answering user queries, such as where to find the correct data, how the GRDM screens work, etc.React on emails and other notifications or GRDM screens by creating tickets for our team or the engineering team in Amsterdam (when the issue is technical in nature)

onboard new users to our system, where you are expected to:

Translate business requirements to reference data tables. This will result in either reusing or expanding existing tables or create new reference data tables.Explain and agree on Governance of the new data (who owns it, who is allowed to change it) and do the subsequent configuration.Train the new users via routing them to appropriate guide documentation but also conduct live training sessions.
