about the Team:
Trading and Financing are under Portfolio Management Department. The portfolio Financing group selects amongst the financing choices for our portfolios and allocated financing business among prime brokers. It develops and maintains relationships with banks and custodians, and helps implement investment strategies by liaising with various groups. In addition, the Group is responsible for negotiating the financing rates and margin requirements for positions held in prime brokerage accounts. The Trading Group is responsible for the management and oversight of broker and dealer selection subject to approval of the Counterparty Committee; working in conjunction with Portfolio management, Researchers, Operations, Legal an Credit, the Trading group seeks to develop and maintain an effective and scalable trade execution platform for all of the portfolios that the firm manages.
Manila team is responsible in supporting both Portfolio Finance and Trading management groups of the department.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
· Support Portfolio Finance within Trading and Financing
· Produce daily and periodic reporting to support the financing and cash management functions
· Assist with margin and financing reconciliation processes as well as cash management and PB trading activity
· Work closely with Portfolio Management, Engineering, Counterparty Risk, Legal, and Operations to support and maintain the portfolio finance processes
· Respond to client and team inquiries through ad hoc data analysis using SQL and other resources
· Initiate data change requests via internal tools and shepherding them through completion
· Recommend solutions to streamline and scale existing workflows
· Reviews and Update documentations for the team’s processes
· Any other related tasks required.
Qualifications:
1. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
2. Proficiency in MS Office applications, experience with VBA, power query, SQL, and/or Python is preferred
3. Experience in Tableau is an advantage
4. Hands-on approach with extreme attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
5. Strong work ethic together with an eagerness to learn in a highly intellectual and dynamic environment
6. Highly motivated, self-starter and able to work independently
7. Effectively manage assigned workflow, project, and tasks
8. Working knowledge of financial products across multiple asset classes
Education and Experience
1. One to five years of experience in the financial industry with strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
2. An undergraduate degree required in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field
