Job Description

The Logistics Lead is the head of the logistics department for a project in Pasay. The purpose of the role is to manage the activities associated with sea, land, and air transport of materials, Customs brokerage, and logistics from the yard towards the project site and/or vessels, and vice versa. The Logistics Lead will ensure safe, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective logistical activities to facilitate other departments with the works needed for the construction of the islands. The logistics department consists of 3 divisions: logistical operations, import-export, and permitting.

     I.        Logistical operations cover the shipments arriving in the yard and going to the project site and/or vessels, and vice versa. Several logistical superintendents, yard and warehouse coordinators, and other personnel are part of this division. The Logistics Lead coordinates and supervises the team and the yard, and plans logistical movements.

    II.        The import-export division in consultation with the company’s headquarters takes care of equipment coming in and going out of the country by air, road, and sea freight. Further distribution on the project is picked up by logistics operations so good communication is key.

  III.        The permitting team is responsible to obtain relevant permits and to oversee project-related requirements from the authorities (e.g., MARINA, PCG, PPA, LGU’s). based on the project requirements, the Logistics Lead properly plans and actively follows up with appointed agents.

General tasks consist of making personnel schedules and aligning with other project departments, to facilitate and ensure smooth operations. The Logistics Lead attends several internal and external meetings, and provides daily and weekly reporting.

Logistics Lead - Accountabilities:

1.    Work in a safe manner and making sure Project safety standards are met.

2.    Coordinating day-to-day logistical operations of the shipments arriving in the yard and going to the project site – Island A/B and/or vessels and vice versa.

3.    Coordination of interdepartmental activities with Procurement, Technical and Operations to facilitate and support.

4.    Sourcing, negotiating, and following up on subcontractors and supplier delivery of goods or services required.

5.    Coordinating logistical yard(s), the personnel working on the yard and yard activities.

6.    Keeping close contact with custom brokers, agents, and other departments to ensure and facilitate smooth operations and in compliance with Company policy, procedures, and Customs laws & regulations

7.    Secure permits are in place during the entire project.

8.    Giving proactive input towards legal department for claimable events.
