Prepress Specialists are responsible for producing world-class digital and press ready files by performing the tasks in the most efficient way possible that include preparing client’s file for press and imposition.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate effectively with the North America Prepress team and the Operations Director so that all client copies and layout instructions co
nveyed strictly adhere to specifications and that committed deadlines are met.Receive and verify that the source file and all its compo
nents (including logos, fonts, and symbols such as register marks) are in order.Preflight and troubleshoot customer digital files, load fonts, inspect graphics and handle color separation.Inspect and process client provided files and take necessary actions to fix identified issues.Make sure all instructions and job specifications in the Production Ticket are strictly followed.Ensure that a thorough final check is co
nducted prior to client submission of any and all jobs by doing docu
ment comparison and accomplishing the necessary job checklists.Pro-actively inform the client of any grammatical errors, misspellings and inco
nsistencies with the source file provided in case these are noticed.Prepare files for output to digital print ready and press ready.Operate the office-assigned equipment in accordance with office-approved guidelines.Adhere to the DG3 Group’s strict rules governing co
nfidentiality of client information.Maintain perso
nal productivity and quality standards to ensure co
nsistently world-class output and ensure excellent service to our clients and achieve total client satisfaction with every job.Follow office rules and procedures as co
ntained in the Employee Handbook.Be a pro-active team player and show readiness to help the Pre-Press team (not just from his own shift) with any manpower-related contingency, technical and procedural concerns.Provide relevant, value-added feedback – both solicited and unsolicited – to Pre-Press Team, the entire organization or to clients (via the Prepress Supervisor, the docu
ment Operations Director, or the management team).Provide support/technical expertise when there are problems regarding the jobs being handled.Assist supervisors and/or management in any projects that may be assigned to you.Perform any additio
nal tasks assigned to him by the Management team.Draft / propose / improve internal department procedures.Supervise the Department in cases when the Department Supervisor is in another shift or on leave.
COMPETENCIES DESIRED:
Extensive knowledge and technical skill in Adobe Acrobat and Enfocus Pitstop Professio
nalExperienced in Imposition.Thorough knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.A background in printing processes, knowledge in troubleshooting issues on file and knowledge in Color Management are advantages.Ability to work in a fast-paced enviro
nment handling multiple tasks and tight deadlinesExcellent communication and writing skills.Detail-oriented; able to ensure an error-free final checking.Must be prepared to work on a shifting basis and overtime if needed.Willing to undergo coaching for perso
