• Responsible for providing technical support for the Unix Server Infrastructure including day to day administration of Servers systems, incident response and remediation, as well as implementation of new technologies. It is extremely important to the company that production server and storage systems offer the highest reliability and performance possible
• To carry out Requests and Tasks as per ITIL standard requirements.
• To provide solutions and root cause analysis of system performance and failure related issues.
• To work on a shift rota between (07:00 – 18:00) and provide 24x7 support.
• To work on projects and provide close liaison with project teams to ensure the smooth transition of new servers, functionality, software tools and initiatives into the Production environment.
• To work closely with management, team members, and all colleagues in IT.
• To review & recommend options to improve the effectiveness of the Unix/Linux infrastructure.
• To establish / maintain best practices, processes and procedures to underpin the operations of the business.
• To performance monitoring, backups and capacity planning.
• Creation / maintenance of full system documentation, including DR documentation.
• Innovation – continually looking at ways to improve infrastructure, for a faster and more efficient environment.
• To provide support on wider IT initiative including business continuity and security.
• Responsible for day-to-day administration of our Linux/Unix based Server estate and related systems.
Requirements:
• 8-10 years Unix/Linux Server experience, as well as general IT principles.
• Strong Knowledge of Physical Servers (HPE, Cisco, Sun/Oracle) and Supporting Software, including blade technology.
• Strong Knowledge of Virtualization concepts (VMWare, KHEV, KVM, Containers)
• Strong Knowledge of RHEL 8/7/6/5 and Solaris 10
• Strong Administration Skills of the following technologies:
Red Hat Satellite
Security (Qualys, Trend, Elastic)
Identity Management
AD Integration/LDAP
Proficiency with scripting Technologies
Shell scripting
File Transfer protocols/services
Regular/Direct/permanent employment with the client
