Position Summary:
A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
Creates, negotiates, and manages release schedules, milesto
nes and deliverables.Manages complex and various organizational, cross-functional, and departmental software release projects.Signs-off product readiness for deployment across environments.Assists in planning customer testing and product docu
mentation.Ensures all development projects support the mission and strategic goals of the release.Identifies areas of risk and establishes a mechanism for reviewing resolution of high-level risk areas.docu
ments, improves (including build versioning, branching strategies, build automation etc.) and communicates the Release Process and Release Management concepts..Authors release presentations and communication materials, internal as well as customer facing.Communicates detailed release management plans, roadmap and schedules for major releases, cyclical, service packs, etc.Acts as liaison for the release management team in discussions regarding release timing, process, and strategy with various groups including senior management. .Acts as point of co
ntact for all release-related issues coming from customers, Pre-sales, Support, Product Management, etc.
What You Will Need:
Required skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of release/project management and 3 years of development/integration/testing experience with complex software projects.Strong experience in Release Management, Quality Assurance and Project Management.Experience organizing, planning, and leading multiple projects from initiation through closing.Proficient problem solving, interviewing and fact finding skills.Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as SEI Capability Maturity Model - Integrated (CMMi), Six Sigma, ISO 9001:2000 etc.
