As part of a matrix Research Design Development (RDD) organisation, and within the Design Engineering function, the Head of Graphics & Packaging runs a large-scale team focused on the design and development of product colour, graphics, literature and packaging.
based in Dyson's Malaysia Development Centre (MDC) and our Philippines Development Centre (PDC), this international team provides the capability to pick up graphics and packing concepts from their UK-based counterparts and develop these into designs that can be efficiently manufactured at scale. The Head of G&P runs the MDC- & PDC-based teams but collaborates regularly with our UK-based team to ensure a seamless transition as the work moves from UK to SEA. This means establishing shared goals and expectations, tools and processes - throughout the development cycle from the first milestone to the last.
about the role
The Head of Graphics & Packaging is a people leader. They develop our capability in line with long term business needs: recruiting, coaching and developing our people and building the supporting infrastructure in our processes and our facilities. They set and explain the long-term vision, including annual goals and objectives. As the figurehead of a multidisciplinary department, they take accountability for the quality and timeliness of their team’s work, ensuring its productivity and cost effectiveness.
Working together with the Heads of Department across RDD, Operations, Commercial and Quality, they are influential in delivering a continuous portfolio of products across all of Dyson’s product categories.
As a trusted RDD leader, the Head of G&P role models the Dyson values and fosters a high-performance culture.

As a people leader running a large RDD function, our Head of Graphics & Packaging plays a key role in the RDD leadership community, encouraging collaboration between functions and leading with a Dyson mindset. This requires our Head of G&P to hold broad competencies including technical, managerial, commercial and behavioural.
