Who We’re Looking For 

We’re looking for a Facade Design Manager with a wide range of skills and proven experience to join our growing team. Someone who is passionate about outstanding design and is willing to constantly learn new things. A Facade Design Manager is an innovative and creative thinker who develops solutions founded on high-level technical expertise. This is an integral member of the Engineer who creates shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and design drawings with high-level technical expertise to the client's standards and supports the US engineering team in developing the drawings, providing solutions, and supports.

Responsibilities

Prepare Facade Shop drawings for various facade systems including unitized, semi-unitized, and stick curtain wall glazing details, cladding details, canopy and skylight details, BMU details, etc. using AutoCAD platform with document control capability and delivering Facade projects in BIM (Autodesk Revit) to appropriate LOD both in 3D and 2D (i.e., using native families and architectural/structural components as relevant).Setting-up project models geo-located, being familiar with the BIM 360 environment and providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, and guidance for BIM workflows and standards, and assisting in the development of project-specific families in coordination with Facades/GRS standardsDevelop shop drawings, embed drawings, layout drawings, fabrication drawings, die drawings, installation drawings, and design drawings.Responsible for developing excellent facade solutions and seeing these through from concept to implementation. It will include scrutinizing detailed designs generated by Architects. You will undertake design work yourself, using your knowledge and experience to support other team members.Work with multi-disciplinary teams and work on several projects running in parallel and attend meetings and communicate with clients and design disciplines. You will receive support from our senior team members as well as any training required to develop your knowledge and skills.Work with a mixed design team and ensure building envelope systems are designed with a significant focus on performance and specifications required by the different States.Always lead with a spirit of collaboration; secure buy-in from key internal and external stakeholders through effective and efficient communications and relationships.Develop a culture of creativity and accountability in the project team – solve problems in new ways while keeping organization commitments; establish an appropriate cadence for reviews to maintain progress, and resolve issues, all while maintaining an agile and adaptive working style promoting initiative, accountability, and quick iteration learning and revision.Challenge actively (constructively and voice relevant concerns coach and teach others on the team to engage constructively in meetings and encourage vibrant discourse.Support Glass Engineering alongside Sales with 2D and 3D detailing, designing, shop drawings submittal, etc…Support in developing NR Group building envelope systems. Provide die drawings and coordinate die requirements with suppliers/extrudersCoordinate Performance Mock Up testing of the new system to successful completion.Coordinate and represent the project team in inter-department meetings and the company in external project meetings.Develop a culture of creativity, accountability, and respect in the Engineering/Sales departments. Solve problems in new ways while keeping organizational commitments; establish an appropriate cadence for reviews with the team to maintain progress, and resolve issues, all while maintaining an agile and adaptive working style promoting initiative, accountability, and quick iteration, learning, and revising.Challenge actively (constructively) and voice relevant concerns; coach and teach others on the project management team to engage constructively in meetings and encourage vibrant disclosure.Develop and mentor younger staff through onboarding, open communication, as well as learning and development opportunities; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of glass and glazing systems; thorough knowledge of building enclosure systems and ability to design and analyze them properlyArchitect or Engineering/Design degree or related discipline in the glass and glazing industry.12 years (or equivalent) in the specific glass and glazing industry in a fast-paced environment.Minimum 8 years of engineering/design experience in large facade projects, with familiarity with metal panels, windows, doors, stick systems, window walls, storefronts, and unitized curtain walls.Must have a good technical background in facades from either actual design, production, or installation experience.Well-proven track record of successful project execution for prominent national or international companiesSolid working knowledge of the following:WindowsAutoCAD (2D and 3D)PowerPoint RevitSketchupInventor
