(HIS) Hope Integrated School is a private, Christian school located at #2 Iris St., cor. Dahlia Ave., Quezon City. The school is recoginized by the Government and is a member of Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
HISTORY
In 1999 a group of Korean missionaries approached Madame Teresita Suiza to establish a Christian school. The first school was a two- storey residence located at Lyric Street, West Fairview, Quezon City. It catered to 150 students from pre-school to high school.
By December of 1999 the school transferred to Iris Street, West Fairview. In March 2000, Hope Christian School of Fairview held its first graduation for Grade Six pupils and Fourth Year students.
The school building was originally built as a two-storey townhouse consisting of 5 residential units, reconfigured to become classrooms. The units were redesigned to become 10- unit classrooms that were fully air-conditioned. The renovation works were timely in the sense that a civil engineer, Federico M. Davila was added to its teaching staff and at the same time was designated as the school administrator.
The opportunities and challenges faced by the school arose hand in hand as it continually strove to establish its mark in the educational arena. Opportunities in the form of growing enrollment year after year were testaments to its growing popularity within the area. Financial challenges also beset the school as renovation and improvement cut a big chunk of the school’s finances. The school faculty and staff faced these challenges with perseverance and understanding. As the school grew in leaps and bounds, it also witnessed the success of its alumni who became professional teachers, accountants, dentists, engineers, nurses and IT experts and accomplished musicians.
In the field of sports, T.D. & S. Hope Christian Academy won several championships in basketball, golf, taekwondo and women’s volleyball. In men’s basketball Hope team gathered medals and trophies in AAPS, QCAA and Mariano Bondoc tournaments. In women’s volleyball Hope’s team also won in several tournaments. The school excelled in sports under the tutelage of Coaches Daniel Espaldon and Cliff Florentino.
In other sports like taekwondo and golf the Corvites and Lagmans won championship trophies and medals giving honor to the school. In Mathematics competitions, John Luis Maglinao and Raymond Ronquillo won in both local and international contests participated in by more than 40 countries.
The school now renamed Hope Integrated School is K to 12 ready offering Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMS) and Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) curricula in its Junior and Senior high school. It will be relocated to a new building in Dahlia Avenue, West Fairview by school year 2017-2018. The new building will offer air-conditioned classrooms and world-class facilities, teachers and curriculum in line with the K to 12 program.
The school president, Mr. Dryan S. Tria is now at the helm in managing the affairs and operations of the school with the able assistance of its principal, Mr. Hansel Alandy, empowering the school to face the new challenges and opportunities offered by the FUTURE.
