Job purpose

·      Will have accountability and responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of all direct tax reporting and compliance requirements within GSC scope.

·      Work with other Finance Towers to identify process improvement and report enhancement opportunities to reduce processing time and improve the quality of outputs.

·      Ensure that all accounting requirements associated with in-scope taxes are fulfilled accurately and on time.

Duties and responsibilities

Lead and develop the Direct Tax Compliance TeamPlan and manage Direct Tax filing and payment activities (e.g. confirming requirements, reviewing timelines, maintaining and updating trackers/tax filing calendars)Train staff and monitor attendance and performanceAddress escalations and manage relationships with and expectations of local teams, internal finance teams and 3rd party service providersEnsure tax reporting and related administrative activities, documents and reports  are accomplished on time and free of errorAssist in the collection of data for/preparation of transfer pricing returns and/or documentation (if required)Keep abreast of appropriate tax regulatory changes impacting assigned IWG entitiesEnsure final returns, working files and other related documents are stored on SharePoint and determine if there are documents required by country law to be archived physically or electronically.  Flag issues noted during day-to-day activities and recommend solutionsBuild internal control environment to ensure goals are met with high quality, accurate and in a timely mannerDrive efficiency by identifying process improvementsEnsure process documentation and job aids are complete and up-to-dateWhere required or requested:Review requirements (e.g. residence certificate) to avail of tax treaty relief or exemptionReview data input for tax calculation and put in place control checksReview analysis and schedules required during tax inspection of assigned IWG entitiesReview corporate income tax returns, and other tax returns.Provide input for tax accounting/reconciliation purposesEnsure tax accounting is performed accurately and on timePerform other tasks assigned by the Finance Director and/or Group Tax

Qualifications

CPAAt least 8 years of experience in Direct Tax complianceAt least 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role
