JOB SUMMARY
Quality Assurance Supervisor reports directly to the Plant Manager by which the main function is to ensure strict compliance to Product Quality, Food Safety, Sanitation standards and Process standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALITY AUDIT & QUALITY SURVEILLANCE FUNCTIONS (40%)
· Handles group of Quality Assurance Specialists. Ensures that team performs effectively to set criteria.
· Conducts Quality assurance audit, assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity and safety is preserved. The scope of responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
o Off Site Assignments (Toll Manufacturing Sites, Off site warehouse and storages).
o On Site / Main Plant Assignment (Commissary).
· Ensures standards are met in receiving of all pertinent materials related to the manufacture of the company’s products. This would include raw materials, packaging materials.
· Ensures standards are met in the dispatch of materials both raw and finished goods prior to delivery to Customers.
· Responsible for holding product that is out of specification by collaborating with production in charge to remove products for reworks as it may deemed necessary.
· Periodic updates and establishment of Standards for current and new products respectively.
· Collaborate with R&D for new products update.
· Conducts regular product sensory evaluation.
SANITATION & FOOD SAFETY SUPPORT (25%)
· Ensures that Operational and Pre Operational sanitation are conducted which includes the Following :
o Start up checklist. Work place & Equipment sanitation.
o Employee hygiene and sanitation checklist.
o Inspects delivery or transport vehicles to ensure compliance to sanitation & GMP requirements by the plant.
o evaluates over all plant sanitation performance and discuss to plant in charge for improvement purposes.
documentATION & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE (25%)
· Prepares and compiles all documents as required by FDA, NMIS and other Institutions as may be required by the Government.
· Inspect delivery and Supplier transport vehicles to ensure compliance to sanitation & GMP requirements by the plant.
· Collates sanitation paper works that should result in a No food safety deviations.
· Collect & collates monitoring sheets for references as required.
· Continuous Quality Manual Updates.
· Recommends and accredits suppliers for upgrades of products and materials.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT (10%)
Utilize technical expertise to prevent process or product failures. Co
ntinuous improvement of product quality through attention to process is expected.Recommend procedural or any process related improvement that impacts the overall quality of products and process.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor’s/College Degree, Food Technology Graduate, Nutrition, or equivalent
B. SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft(MS Word Excel, PPT.) Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to prepare reports, proposals and procedures
Tactful and discrete when dealing with people and confidential information
People Management Skill is required as this function deals with people of various personalities’
Knowledge in food safety Practices
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
C. WORKED EXPERIENCE
Experience in a Food Manufacturing company as A Quality Assurance Specialist of at least 1 year is required for this function. Technical knowledge in Food safety HACCP is a plus

E. WORKING CONDITIONS
Work area is not limited to commissary Facilities as other outside assignments may be required in the performance of Duty such as but not limited to store quality audit or investigation functions.
Other work area(s): Cold Storages, Satellite warehouses and Production Facilities , toll manufacturing locations.
Environmental conditions:
QA specialist working conditions align with production and processing environment which primarily is exposed in production process where people and machines are present.
Environment are generally noisy and temp. Is maintained at cooler than normal office temperature that ranges from 15-18 degree Celsius.
