Job Description:

Product Management Assistant is responsible for updating and expediting purchase orders with our suppliers. They will learn about our supplier base, products, computer system and processes for expediting purchase orders. Product Management Assistants will work closely with Product Managers and Associate Buyers to ensure purchase orders are processed by suppliers and ensure delivery of products to support our customer needs.

Job Responsibilities

Updating and Expediting Purchase Orders (PO’s)Gain proficiency in use of expediting and supplier portalsEnsure suppliers receive and process purchase ordersAcknowledge and update information on purchase orders such as costs, expediting notes, expected & ship datesConduct Expediting reports to communicate shipment dates and updates on products Purchasing SupportCommunicate with Product Managers & Associate Buyers on purchase ordersAssist with purchasing of goods to ensure that the company operational needs are met for each branchReconcile receiving issues with warehouse and suppliersCheck pricing and availability on productsUpdate supplier information in ERP system as neededAssist with inventory returns, invoices discrepancies, and other tasks as necessary Interacting with SuppliersEstablish, engage and communicate with suppliers on purchase ordersExpedite purchase orders to ensure delivery to meet customer needsIdentify purchase order issues and initiate resolution with suppliers

Qualifications:

2-3 years of relevant customer service experience in an industrial distribution setting or other related fieldExceptional analytical, problem solving, and time management skillsStrong computer skills required with proficiency in MS OfficeExcellent interpersonal and written communication skillsSelf-motivation and the ability to work independently are essentialExperience with Prophet 21 (P21) preferredWilling to work well within a team environmentMust be a self-starter and able to multi-taskMust be able to sit for long periods of timeAble to input data into a computer and work with a computer screen for long periods of time
