Instrumentation & Controls Technician

The Instrumentation and Controls Technician is responsible for performing routine trouble shooting, maintenance, and installation and integration of various types of process control instrumentation equipments such as transmitters, controllers, integrators, recorders, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMI, and final drive elements. Make corrective and preventive maintenance to electro-mechanical control circuits.

Job Qualifications:

1. Must be a graduate of Instrumentation and Control Engineering Tech or With Associate degree equivalent to technical/vocational

2. Preferably with related experience in maintenance or other related technical training preferably in a manufacturing environment, but fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply

3. Preferably with experience in PLC and Controls

4. Preferably has the ability to interpret schematic drawings (to component level) of pneumatic loops, hardware relay logic diagrams, instrumetations, motor control circuit diagrams, etc.

5. Willing to report to work as required under emergency conditions.

Job Responsibility:

Using technical knowledge in trouble shooting skills to maintain the manufacturing equipment systemsField fault analysis - determines if instrument has failed or if it is a process problemFollow diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctionsField calibration of instrumentation utilizing proper test equipmentComplete overhaul in shop environment to include component replacements, alignments, and calibration to specifications of recordRepair of signal transmission facility such as tubing, wiring, instrumentation to include pneumatic, electronic and digital equipments, etc.Fault analysis of hardwire relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits and common utility/lighting circuitsInstallation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrumen/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load, and Implementation of new control logicFault analysis and programming of PLC-based systems with control logic modification if requiredModify PM's to equipment based on findings during repair or preventive tasks when appropriatePerform detailed analysis and recommend repair solutions when equipment is not performing up to expectationsComplete preventive maintenance and repair work orders and procedures
