Role accountabilities:

The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solutionCollaborate with other team members to deliver project requirementsWork effectively with Global Design colleagues and in accordance with agreed project working arrangementsDevelop strong working knowledge of Arcadis standard and project specific BIM Execution Plan (BEP) to support implementation of these plansMaintain understanding of relevant state, national and international BIM standards.Coordinate the production of project BIM deliverables including models that are accurate, clear and concise, compliant with Arcadis standards, best practice and any other standards dictated by the nature of the projectCoordinate BIM modellers, engineers and other technicians to ensure that designs and models are developed in accordance with the agreed BEPDevelop awareness of the engineering design intent to ensure models developed are consistent with that intentDevelop awareness of relevant project design delivery program to ensure BIM deliverables can be delivered within the agreed program and highlight timing issues to relevant delivery managers as soon as they become apparentDevelop awareness of the client’s intended end uses of models developed and identify any improvements with modelling/BIM processes to better align with those end uses.Coordinate content, timing and integration of individual BIM models from all disciplines into wider federated BIM modelProvide modelling guidance to other members of the BIM teamOperate as a competent technician with little supervisionDeliver work that meets client and Arcadis requirements (as set out in the BEP)Assist with  the coaching and development and the development of capabilities of other BIM practitionersBuild an understanding of the coordination of all elements of a project and how it ultimately interfaces with the clientResolve modelling and coordination issuesRun clash detection for discipline and interdisciplinary issuesAdministration of clash resolutionAssisting in the maintenance of the CDESupport the coordination of  interfaces of technical work including models and drawings with other disciplinesEnsure the production of coordinated project models that are accurate, clear and concise and compliant with best practice and any other quality standards dictated by the nature of the projectCheck and verify that quality requirements have been achieved in accordance with the Arcadis Integrated Management SystemSuccessfully manage, plan, resource and complete assigned BIM modelling work within agreed budget and deadlinesKeep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profileMaintain records of Continuing Professional Development and are able to make these available for audit by their professional institutionCheck the models with the objectives and conditionsCheck the different aspect models on consistencyMake proposals for any design adjustments to be made, and discuss and consult with the relevant members of the teamMonitor the implementation of possible adjustments in aspect modelsGenerate graphical or (alfa)numeric output for the benefit of productionControl, monitor and steer the BIM process with the necessary toolsCoach and guide involved employees with the implementation and application of BIMGuide a project team through the BIM process and provide ad hoc assistance to the wider practice when requiredLiaise with the project team, client and consultants to review all BIM models for the project and make any necessary amendmentsSupport Arcadis BIM leadership in implementation of Arcadis 100% BIM policyEngaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD)Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time as directed by your manager or ArcadisEnsuring you are familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines

Qualifications & Experience:

Who are we looking for? You will have:

Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience in the BIM fieldHave a qualification in a relevant technical subject including elements of Modelling (HNC/HND or equivalent)Have achieved Engineering Technician status or equivalent through a recognised professional institutionHave substantial (production) experience in design, drafting or engineering and BIMUnderstand and comply with the Code of Conduct operated by professional institutionUndertake engineering work in a way that contributes to sustainable development. This could include an ability to operate and act responsibly, taking account of the need to progress environmental, social and economic outcomes simultaneouslyAre experienced in using Integrated Management System requirements to support delivery of design and engineering projectsPrepare design risk assessment to accompany hazard identification during design developmentHave familiarity with Health and Safety regulations and guidelinesAre experienced in use of project Design Decision Logs and Project Assumptions registers to record and agree key project decisionsReview and select appropriate techniques, procedures and methods to undertake tasksIdentify problems and apply appropriate methods to identify causes and achieve satisfactory solutionsIdentify, organise and use resources effectively to complete tasks, with consideration for cost, quality, safety, security and environmental impactAccept, allocate and supervise technical and other tasksHave advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications.Able to use a range of computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems and presenting resultsHave excellent time management skillsAble to provide input to estimates for the modelling budget and schedule and to oversee technical resources to meet requirements on small to medium sized projectsHave capability to use upwards of 2/3 BIM software programsAble to apply their design experience to the models they produceHave capability to use ICT tools for viewing and coordinating the BIMHave experience in defining BIM outcomesHave experience in setting up and coordinating a BIM Protocol and Execution Plan for a given project
