RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review EOBs to post a payment, denial, adjustment or write-off.Review adjustment forms from the other departments to post an adjustment, write-off, or transfer payments to other service dates.Research and report any payment that can’t be applied to a claim.Review and apply refunds and credit card or check payments from insurance or patient.Compare batch proofs to source docu
ments to ensure that reports are balanced.Keeps Supervisor and/or Manager informed of system issues.Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding patient and company co
nfidentiality (HIPAA).
Qualifications:
Completed at least 2 years in College or with an Associate or Bachelor’s DegreeThorough understanding of the US Healthcare Insurance claimsInternal – At least 1 year tenure in ACHExternal – 0-1 year of experience in Healthcare Insurance Data Entry/EncodingProficient Medicare and solid general payer knowledgeHas the ability to read and interpret explanation of benefitsBasic Excel, Word and Outlook experience requiredTyping using computer keyboards, 10-key pads and calculatorsStrong Computer/Software SkillsDetail-orientedTyping speed of 40 wpmOccasio
