COMPANY BACKGROUND/HISTORY
METRO CONTAINER CORPORATION, a family owned enterprise, started as a backyard business prior to its incorporation on March 16, 1973, with the primary purpose of engaging and carrying on the business of manufacturing, selling and distributing on a wholesale basis plain and lithographed packaging materials of every kind, description and character for use in the transportation and preservation of goods in commerce and to conduct and carry all other business pertaining thereto.
Through the years since its incorporation, Metro Container Corporation in its pursuit of excellence, has grown to lead the industry in the manufacture and distribution of high added value quality tin containers, (plain and lithographed) in various packaging categories i.e., Industrial, Food, Novelties and Giftwares.
MALINTA PLANT (Tincans)
Presently, Metro Container employs 200 competent and well trained personnel in its workforce. Two (2) strategic Tin canmaking and Plastic Injection facilities are located in Metro Manila which caters to a wide array of applications in various container shapes, dimensions and designs.
The Main plant is situated in Malinta, Valenzuela City, about thirty (30) minutes away from downtown Manila. Installed here are two (2) tin lithography decorative lines, twelve (12) major can assembly lines and power presses convertible to an extensive range of different types and sizes of cans for export and local consumption in the following industry categories:
-Cooking Oil
-Biscuit Industry
-Motor Oil & Lubricants
-Paints, Wax, Inks & Adhesives
-Ice Cream Cans & Other Food Items
-Novelty & Fancy Promotional Cans
-Air Freshener Cans
-Coffee & Wine Cans
The main plant also houses a machine shop where all moulds, dies and tools for can-making are fabricated by a host of a well-trained and technically competent engineers. Plastic injection and blow moulding machineries and equipments are stationed here to service various packaging requirements.
PASIG EXTENSION PLANT (PEP-Plastics)
Another plant, southeast of Manila-Pasig has Twenty (20) Plastic Injection Machines which services specifically Ridgid Plastic packaging requirements for food products such as chocolates, biscuits, candies, coffee and ice cream cans. Installed here are Fifteen (15) new All-electric and Five (5) Hydraulic injection moulding machineries which caters for the plastic packaging requirements of Selecta Ice Cream, under its new corporate name Unilever - RFM Ice Cream, Inc.and several small players in the Ice Cream Industry including packaging for Biscuits, Industrial and Paints industry.

The Pasig Plant has been awarded an FSSC 22000 Certification including HACCP Codex Alimentarius and GMP Certification last April 2014 and valid up to January 2017 by SGS Philippines.
