The Opportunity:
The Senior Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and managing OpenText’s Health and Safety operations across its center in Manila and leading a compliance and training program that meets local and international statutory requirements. The programs must assure a systematic approach of both daily management and opportunities for improvement. The Senior safety officer develops, recommends, and implements programs, policies, and procedures associated with recognizing, measuring, evaluating, and controlling potential health and safety hazards.
The objective of the Senior Safety Officer is to deliver positive results at sites in a manner that protects personnel, property, and the environment while maintaining business operations. The Senior Safety officer plays a crucial role in facilitating the leadership of the safety on the site for all functional activities. He or She shall plan, implement, oversee, and evaluate the Company’s occupational safety and health programs, ensuring legal adherence to the OSH standards, regulations, and guidelines.

Training

Reporting
Oversee the tracking and mo

Sites Support

Lead or support investigations of OHS incidents, analyze root cause(s), support/track the implementation of practical corrective actions, and prepare communications to share the lessons learned from such events across the account.Provide direct support to OpenText employees on all matters related to industry OHS compliance, as well as specific client compliance and site-specific operating requirements.Provide on-site assistance with the Emergency Preparedness and Response All other duties and tasks assigned surrounding the role.
Compliance

What it takes:
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related area or equivalent combination of education and relevant field experienceFive years of relevant experience as a safety officer supporting O&M work and projects, ideally within a corporate or Business Processing outsourcing (BPO) environment, including working at heights, co
nfined space, excavation, lifting and rigging, energy isolation, hot work, and other high-risk tasks.Success working with subcontractors/vendors supporting mutual safety objectivesA proven track record managing local and internatio
